This two-storey retail development included a large suspended slab at a height of 5.5m, formed off the ground. The floor was a class 2 finish.
Ground bearing capacity was the major obstacle, and was overcome with regular compaction testing by a Geotechnical Engineer working in conjunction with our Formwork Engineers to ensure the ideal outcome.
We poured six to seven metre high off form concrete walls in a single pour, slowing the pour to a rate of 2m rise per hour to ensure there were no cold joints.
As these were long walls keeping the pour rate to 2m rise per hour proved to be challenging but successful for a project that both TFC and the client, McNab were extremely happy with.
